Captain Fancher    pen and ink drawings

Biography

 

Perfecting his artistic vision since the age of five-when he took amagic marker to a cardboard box splattering it with ink and ruiningthe floors in his parents brand new custom built home-Rob Fancher has dedicated himself to the refinement of his style, technique andartistic vision.

 

Always engaged in finding the truth in his subjects, he has worked with a wide variety of media and subjects
which has currently led to focusing his energy on pen and ink figurative drawings.

Raised in Chicago, Illinois, Fancher started his professional artistic career after moving to Los Angeles and creating set designs for the theater. After designing sets for To Kill a Mockingbird, Rent, 42nd Street, The Wizard of Oz and many more, he turned his ambitions
towards fine art studying at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,California.

 

After his education at Art Center, Fancher spent time in
Orange County, South Florida and Marseille, France, fine tuning his fine art skills in a variety of media.

Fancher has worked with oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, metal sculpture, carving stone and installations including a complex experiment casting acrylics using fiber optics and lasers. Fancher currently resides in Los Angeles and is involved in expanding his portfolio of pen and ink drawings.
